About the Pit..

My flagship beer is Fat Kid, an amber pale ale - others of note include Rae's Blue Moon, Paver's Polish Imperial Stout (yes, PPIS), Tits Up Cream Ale, Monkey Nuts Brown Ale, etc.

In 2007, I attended a homebrew contest and collected email addresses from the attendees to start a group chat ... today, it's known on FaceBook as the Big Sioux Brewing Society, with over 500 members.

My original recipe for 'Sage Against the Machine' (a honey sage ale) was brewed by a friend at Hopcat, a brewpub in Grand Rapids, Michigan - and on tap there for over a year. They gave it the cool name, not me.

I don't have the desire to own or run a brewery - however, my next goal is to have Fat Kid brewed professionally here in Sioux Falls. With no shortage of great breweries in the area, and friends at some of them, I feel confident that I'll eventually make this happen!
